won't some one think of the children?

i was clearing off images from cf cards i seldom use when i came across this.

about a month or so ago i was asked to speak in a photo 101 class a community college by an editor i work with quite a bit. she wanted to speak about seeing light to the "kids". so i put together a slide show and tried to show them how ambient and strobe lighting can be very similar, and very different. after showing them my work i broke out the profotos and tried to show them some simple technics that they could accomplish with clamp lights, flash lights, or any other common lighting they could get their hands on.

i am begining to find it strange that i am teaching other people about this stuff. i mean i feel like i am still learning and shouldn't be a "leader". i do love talking to people about this though. the younger guys are always so enthuasistic and tend to keep me thinking. that's always a good thing

this shot was one of the student's who wanted to see some "hip hop" style lighting. i kept it simple so they could try to do the same thing with one light.
